Le 18 décembre 2025, le Président du Consortium, le Professeur Jean-Paul Deroin, et le Recteur principal de l’USTH, le Professeur Jean Marc Lavest, ont effectué une visite officielle à la Vietnamese-German University (VGU) à Ho Chi Minh City, marquant une étape importante dans le renforcement de la collaboration entre les deux institutions.
Accueillis par le Professeur René Thiele, Président de la VGU, et son équipe, la délégation a pu découvrir le campus, ses infrastructures modernes et ses laboratoires spécialisés en génie électrique, en contrôle de circuits imprimés et en matériaux synthétiques. La bibliothèque, récemment récompensée par un grand prix en 2023, a également été mise en avant comme un atout majeur pour les étudiant.e.s.
Lors de cette réunion, le Professeur Thiele a présenté la VGU, créée en 2008 et visant à figurer parmi les 200 meilleures universités régionales d’ici 2030. Avec 4 500 étudiant.e.s aujourd’hui et un campus pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 15 000 étudiant.e.s, l’université propose actuellement 22 programmes d’études et prévoit plusieurs nouveaux programmes pour 2026 et 2027.
La VGU se distingue par ses liens étroits avec l’industrie allemande, tandis que l’USTH est fortement orientée vers la recherche. Cette complémentarité ouvre la voie à de futures initiatives, telles que des échanges d’étudiant.e.s, des stages internationaux ou même des doubles diplômes conjoints.
Cette visite a renforcé la volonté des deux universités de collaborer et de partager leurs expertises respectives, au bénéfice des étudiant.e.s et de la recherche scientifique. Il a été convenu que le Président du Consortium prendrait contact avec son homologue de la VGU basé en Allemagne pour formaliser ces futures collaborations.

Vietnamese-German University and University of Science and Technology of Hanoi strengthen international education cooperation in Vietnam
Recently, Vietnamese-German University (VGU) hosted a delegation from the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH), with the participation of Prof. Dr. Jean-Paul Deroin, President of the USTH Consortium, and Prof. Dr. Jean-Marc Lavest, Rector of USTH.
The visit was of particular significance as both VGU and USTH are public universities in Vietnam developed through intergovernmental cooperation, operating through strategic partnerships with leading European academic institutions. The shared educational model provides a favorable foundation for dialogue and for advancing bilateral cooperation initiatives between the two universities.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. René Thiele, President of VGU, stated that the two institutions agreed to prioritize the implementation of regular student exchange programs, while gradually working toward the establishment of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening academic exchange, research collaboration, and in-depth scholarly dialogue among faculty members and researchers of both universities.
Dr. Thomas Aulig, Vice President of VGU, noted that the visit to VGU’s laboratory facilities led to productive discussions on opportunities for sharing and jointly developing technical infrastructure to support future teaching and research activities.
Through joint exchange, study, and research programs, students from VGU and USTH will gain opportunities to engage in a multicultural international academic environment and to experience European-standard education models delivered in Vietnam, thereby enhancing their professional competencies, global mindset, and capacity for international integration in the context of an increasingly internationalized higher education landscape.
The meeting is expected to serve as an important stepping stone toward deeper and more sustainable cooperation, contributing to the effective development of international university models and making a positive contribution to the advancement of higher education in Vietnam and the wider region.

Trường Đại học Việt đức và Trường Đại học Khoa học & Công nghệ Hà Nội thúc đẩy hợp tác giáo dục quốc tế tại việt nam
Vừa qua, Trường Đại học Việt Đức (VGU) đã đón tiếp đoàn lãnh đạo Trường Đại học Khoa học và Công nghệ Hà Nội (USTH), với sự tham dự của GS.TS. Jean-Paul Deroin – Chủ tịch Liên minh USTH và GS.TS. Jean-Marc Lavest – Hiệu trưởng USTH.
Chuyến thăm mang ý nghĩa đặc biệt trong bối cảnh VGU và USTH đều là các trường đại học công lập tại Việt Nam được xây dựng theo cơ chế hợp tác liên chính phủ, vận hành dựa trên sự hợp tác chiến lược với các đối tác học thuật hàng đầu từ châu Âu. Sự tương đồng về mô hình đào tạo là tiền đề thuận lợi để hai bên trao đổi và thúc đẩy các thỏa thuận hợp tác song phương.
Phát biểu tại buổi làm việc, GS.TS. René Thiele – Hiệu trưởng VGU cho biết hai trường thống nhất ưu tiên triển khai các chương trình trao đổi sinh viên định kỳ, đồng thời từng bước hướng tới việc thiết lập quan hệ đối tác chiến lược nhằm tăng cường trao đổi học thuật, hợp tác nghiên cứu và đối thoại chuyên sâu giữa đội ngũ giảng viên, nhà khoa học của hai bên.
Bên cạnh đó, theo TS. Thomas Aulig – Phó Hiệu trưởng VGU, chuyến tham quan hệ thống phòng thí nghiệm hiện đại trong khuôn viên VGU đã mở ra nhiều trao đổi tích cực về khả năng chia sẻ và khai thác chung hạ tầng kỹ thuật, phục vụ hiệu quả cho hoạt động đào tạo và nghiên cứu trong thời gian tới.
Các chương trình trao đổi, học tập và nghiên cứu chung giữa VGU và USTH sẽ mang đến cho sinh viên cơ hội tiếp cận môi trường học thuật quốc tế đa văn hóa, trải nghiệm mô hình đào tạo chuẩn châu Âu ngay tại Việt Nam, qua đó nâng cao năng lực chuyên môn, tư duy toàn cầu và khả năng hội nhập trong bối cảnh giáo dục đại học ngày càng quốc tế hóa.
Qua đó, cuộc gặp gỡ giữa VGU và USTH được kỳ vọng sẽ trở thành bước đệm quan trọng cho những hợp tác sâu rộng và bền vững hơn trong tương lai, góp phần phát huy hiệu quả mô hình đại học quốc tế và đóng góp tích cực vào sự phát triển của giáo dục đại học Việt Nam và khu vực.
